How to make an omelet that is perfect

Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. How can you make them perfectly? I have tried many different recipes and methods, but none of them work. So I wanted to share some tips and tricks so that you can make delicious, fluffy omelets every morn.

We should first know that eggs are very temperamental ingredients when making omelets. It is important that eggs are fresh from an organic market and kept cool until used. If you don't keep them cold enough, the whites won't form properly, and the yolks will break down too much and become runny. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you want to make omelets right away, it's best not to use eggs that are too cold.

You can also separate the egg before you add it to the pan. The yolk and white should not be mixed together as this can cause the omelet's curdle.

The bottom part of an egg that is added directly to the stovetop might be burned, which could cause a ruined texture in your omelet. Instead, microwave the egg for 10 seconds before adding it to the pan. The microwave heat cooks your egg just right, without it becoming too soft.

Next, let’s talk about mixing the egg. When you mix eggs together, you want to beat them well. You can do this by turning the bowl of your mixer upside down. Then shake the bowl vigorously. By doing this, the egg is thoroughly mixed with the air in the bowl.

The fun part begins - you need to pour the milk into your mixture. Fold the eggs in the milk mixture by first pouring half of it into the egg whites. Don't worry if there are still streaks of egg visible; these streaks will disappear once you flip the omelet.

After folding the eggs fold the pan onto medium heat. When the oil starts to hot, wait for the pan to cook. When the oil is hot enough, add 1/4 cup butter to the pan. Stir it around until the butter covers the entire pan. Now carefully crack open the lid of the pan and sprinkle salt into the pan. An additional pinch of salt will prevent the omelet form sticking to your pan.

Once the omelet has formed completely, cover the pan and let it set for a few minutes. Use a spatula to flip the omelet or turn the pan upside-down. Cook the second side for a minute or so. Remove the omelet from the pan and serve immediately.

This recipe is best when used with whole milk. But, you can use skimmed milk as well.
