How To

How to make an omelet that is perfect

Omelets is one of my favourite breakfast foods. But how do you make them perfectly? Many different recipes and methods have failed to work for me. So I am sharing some tips and tricks today to help you make fluffy, delicious omelets every morning.

It is important to know that eggs can be temperamental when making omelets. You must get them fresh, organically, and keep them cold until you cook. You must keep them cool enough to allow the whites to form properly and the yolks to become too runny if they're not kept at the right temperature. This makes your omelets look weirdly colored. It is best to use room-temperature eggs if you are going to cook them right away.

Another tip is to separate your egg before adding it into the pan. You don't want the white to get mixed with the yolk, as this could cause the egg to curdle.

The egg can burn if it is placed directly on the stovetop. Instead, place the egg in the microwave for 10 second before you put it in the skillet. The heat from the microwave cooks the egg just enough without overcooking it.

Next, let's talk about mixing the eggs. When you mix eggs together, you want to beat them well. Turn the bowl upside down and grab the whisk to do this. Now shake the bowl vigorously. This allows the air to be whipped and the egg to be mixed thoroughly.

The fun part is now - adding the milk to the mixture. Fold the eggs in the milk mixture by first pouring half of it into the egg whites. Do not worry if you see streaks of egg; they will disappear when the omelet is flipped.

After folding the eggs fold the pan onto medium heat. When the oil starts to hot, wait for the pan to cook. Add 1/4 cup butter to the oil and swirl it around to coat all sides of the pan. Next, carefully open the lid and sprinkle salt into your pan. An additional pinch of salt will prevent the omelet form sticking to your pan.

Cover the pan once the omelet is formed and allow it to cool completely. Flip the omelet by using a spatula. Cook the opposite side for another minute. Serve immediately after removing the omelet from its pan.

This recipe is best when used with whole milk. But, you can use skimmed milk as well.
